Arabian Nights

Here's something I wrote for the holy month of Ramadan which will embrace us soon.

Arabian nights our magical time

Arabian nights come when needed most,
A spiritual enlightenment enforced by oath
A sacrifice of the day but increased blessings by night
Our body martyred for our spirit to take flight

A deep sense of belief in our religion heightened
Families come together in unison and bonds tightened
We speak of the holiest month of months
When our holiest book of books had been revealed
How lucky are we to open those verses that to others are sealed

Arabian nights warm with whispers of angels
Arabian nights fierce with the mercy of god
We might not be those who live day to day as we should
But deep in our heart he is there and we are understood

The Aroma of childhood memories of celebration
It’s the time we get them back out of isolation
The time of pure hearts and innocent thoughts
The time of selfless sacrifice and true heritage

Arabian nights when all wickedness are behind barred doors
When we are offered changing tides and sins are washed off our shores
We aspire to be better in our heart
And every year we are given a clean start

We welcome you Arabian night with open arms
Soon to be Ramadan Mubarak to all

Avo Good For the Heart and soul and not to forget Style

So all of a sudden I’ve acquired a fascination for Avocado pears, we heading for winter in beautiful South Africa and seeing these wonderful fruits at our every turn it gave me the inspiration for this Beauty tip!  Yes, not for the belly but for beauty.

Ancient Aztec, Mayan and Inca Beauties believed that the avocado fed the skin from without as well as within. The elegant Avocado holds a treasure of vitamins, minerals and natural oils.
Consider these nutriments in the avocado: Vitamins A, C, E, iron, potassium, niacin, pantothenic acid and its natural emollients. Plus protein not usually found in fruit. And no cholesterol, of course. Avocado skin color will vary from season to season
Avocado skin care is completely relevant to today's trend toward the use of natural organic substances. Here is a thoroughly safe, chemically free approach to being more beautiful.
Some are the ancient secrets and others sent from all over the world but here are the favorites. Every formula is easy to prepare in your own kitchen.
The other ingredients, besides the avocado, can be found in most refrigerators or cupboards. Have fun, be natural, and be beautiful!

How To prepare your Avocado For Beauty Care
The avocado you use should be fully ripe. You may store your ripe avocados in the refrigerator, but never put this delicate fruit in the freezer. It might just die of shock.
How do you know when the avocado is ripe? Hold it in the palm of your hand and gently press it with your fingers. A ripe fruit will yield to your touch. It will open easily, peel evenly and reveal its glorious green-gold interior.
When the beauty formula calls for MASHED or PUREED pulp the procedure is quite simple. Peel your avocado (or one-half) and remove the pit. Your avocado can now be PUREED or MASHED by any of these methods: the fork, the blender, the food processor or the sieve.
The avocado like any other organic matter, is perishable and therefore should be made up freshly for each treatment.
To prevent the avocado or its mixture with other ingredients from darkening while stored in your refrigerator, place plastic wrap directly on the surface of the avocado mixture so as not to expose the mixture to air. The usual method of adding lemon or lime juice for this purpose may be too harsh for skins which are dry or sensitive.

Avocado Facial Cleanser
Beat the yolk of an egg until it is light and frothy, add a half cup of milk and the mashed half of a ripe peeled avocado. A blender is handy here, but if you don't have one, beat the mixture with a fork until you have a thin cream or lotion-like consistency. Apply on squares of cotton as you would any other cleanser. You may also use this deep cleanser after ordinary soap and water, if your skin is normal. It's quite effective against pollution and grime. Therefore, it's a very pure method of keeping your complexion free of pollutants which can interfere with normal skin function.
Since the formula is perishable, we suggest making it every other day and storing it in the refrigerator between uses.

Avocado Moisturizer
The inside of the avocado peel is actually valuable. The precious oil hidden away in the peel of the avocado is also a wonderful facial moisturizer. To be technical, the oil contains a humectant, a substance that holds moisture.

Straw Berry delight

Ah I stumbled upon this great organic skin care concoction! STRAWBERRIES so Devine and great for the skin , I have incorporated some trends which I associate strawberries with, hope you like.
Quickest Strawberry Scrub Ever
Strawberry’s main skin-pleasing ingredient is alpha-hydroxy acid, a great little substance that helps us slough off dead skin cells so that new, youthful skin is revealed. Here’s a ridiculously easy way to get some of strawberry’s benefits in a New York minute: just cut a berry in half, rub it over your face, and let it sit there for a few minutes, then rinse. Instantly softer, smoother skin!
Sweet Strawberry and Cream Mask
This recipe is so delicious–with berries, cream, and honey–that you might be tempted to eat it instead of putting on your face, but give it a try. It will leave your skin so soft and beautiful: strawberries and cream mask.
Strawberry Foot Scrub
Feet can use a little help in summer, when sandals expose rough dead skin for all to see. This easy scrub helps slough it all away:
INGREDIENTS
8 strawberries
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoons kosher salt
Mix ingredients into a paste, massage well into feet, then rinse and dry.

What is fashion law?

Fashion law embraces the legal substance of style, including all of the issues that may arise throughout the life of a garment, starting with the designer’s original idea and continuing all the way to the consumer’s closet. The diverse categories of law that affect the business of fashion include intellectual property, business and finance, international trade and government regulation, and consumer culture and civil rights. From the historical relationship between clothing and culture to current issues involving the globalization of fashion, the newly defined field of fashion law is made to measure for the modern apparel industry.

The Institute has developed both semester-long courses and other educational programming available to attorneys, fashion industry professionals, students from other law schools and design schools, and the general public. Dewani case set back

NRI honeymoon murder case: Shrien Dewani gets temporary relief

Non Resident Indian (NRI) businessman Shrien Dewani got some temporary relief as the British High Court on Friday halted, on mental health grounds, his extradition to South Africa to face trial for the murder of his wife in a fake car-jacking during the couple's honeymoon in Cape Town in 2010. The ruling comes amidst doubts being raised about 32-year-old Shrien's involvement in the murder following the revelation of new CCTV footage by the BBC last night.

The constitution was written by the people for the people, so why review it??

The government is undertaken by three inter-connected branches of government:
§  Legislature: The National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces
§  Executive: The President, who is both Head of State and Head of Government
§  Judiciary: The Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal, and the High Court

And each of its powers are separated, this is called a separation of Powers. Each branch has its own function and cannot cross boundaries of one another. So the breakdown is as follows:

Legislature- (who consist of the winning party who won the election) as in our country the ANC. The functions of the legislature are to make law, amend law and repeal law ( ACTS passed by parliament) BUT Subject to the CONSTITUTION (which is the highest supreme law of our country. It was written by the people for the people and protects the rights of all citizens)
Executives- which consist of the president etc- the function of the executives are to execute the law and to enforce it. Bear in mind that the executives Cannot make the law or alter it, only enforce it and execute it.
The Judiciary- who consists of constitutional court, high court etc their functions are to interpret the law and apply it. Most importantly they act as referee between the legislature and executives and ensure that the law that passes is in line with the constitution.

Now bearing in mind the functions of the above branches which run the country cannot over step each other’s boundaries however in parliament when passing a law the judiciary can strike down a law if it is against the constitution. Not even the president has the power to strike down a law or amend a law.
Above I give you a breakdown of powers to show you the importance of the judiciary ie the constitutional court as it adheres to the constitution and anything unconstitutional they will not pass.
Now please read this article and tell me what your opinion is about the government wanting to review the constitutional decisions!!!

Constitutional Court review questioned

Tuesday 28 February 2012 18:24
SABC
Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Jeff Radebe
Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Jeff Radebe(SABC)
The Justice Minister has sought to allay concerns over perceived interference with constitutional court. Last week, government spokesperson Jimmy Manyi said there were no holy cows in South Africa which included the Constitutional Court.

Government wants the court's judgments assessed to determine if it’s contributed to transformation. Minister Jeff Radebe released a discussion document on the transformation of the judicial system today.

The Constitutional Court, which is the highest legal authority in the land, is seen as invincible and untouchable. The review of the Constitutional Court has sparked fears of interference with the judiciary.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Jeff Radebe said that its independence was guaranteed. The court has a constitutional democracy due to the ANC so there can't be valid reasons why people can even challenge that. He said that the fact of the independence of the judiciary is on track.
it is not clear exactly why the minister wants this review of constitutional court judgment.
The Office of the Chief Whip in Parliament says the ANC caucus will fully support efforts by cabinet to review the judicial system. ANC Caucus spokesperson, Moloto Mothapo says: "The discussion of this type is long overdue and necessary to the strengthening of our constitutional society, in which all people are equal and enjoy equal access to opportunities our hard-fought democracy presents.

"We are pleased with this development as contrary to doomsayers and those who have anointed themselves defenders of our constitutionalism. It is illustrative of a government that is faithful and obedient to the Constitution and takes seriously its constitutional task of deepening principles of a just society and unites the people of South Africa in their diversity," Mothapo added.

Some critics believe the Minister was vague on details and the intended consequences of such a review.

Constitutional Law professor at the University of Cape Town, Pierre de Vos said that it is not clear exactly why the minister wants this review of constitutional court judgment.

The assessment will be made by academic and research bodies and will be completed within 18 months. The terms of reference will be announced soon.
